Original release was getting hard to find but CMC has recently re-introduced the 1955 - 300SLR

This is from the first issue by CMC dating back to 2010/11. Rudolph Uhlenhaut built 2 of these Coupes with intentions to race them. In the 1955 - 24 Hours of LeMans Race a Mercedes racing car was involved in a serious accident were approx. 80 fans were killed and 200 injured. Mercedes withdrew from the racing circuit returning in 1987. One of these coupes recently Sold for approx. $130 million at auction.
Fit and finish throughout this Diecast 1st class - great paint - engine detail is amazing very realistic.Original release was getting hard to find but CMC has recently re-introduced the 1955 - 300SLR
Great review. I personally like this red interior more than the blue one.
Hi Jonas - when CMC released the first edition of the 300 SLRs the red interior was the original release. I believe in 2011 CMC released the 2nd version with blue interior plus it had a silencer (muffler) attached on side of model. This edition was limited to 4000 units - much rarer than the 1st release with red interior. Like you I also prefer red interior.
